What are the disadvantages of light trucks according to the National VI standard?

  1. The purchase cost of the entire vehicle is higher
    Compared to light trucks of the same model in China V, the whole vehicle price of China VI models is generally 10000 to 20000 yuan higher. Due to the addition of a complete set of post-treatment exhaust gas purification devices (DPF particulate filter, SCR urea injection system, etc.), the cost of components has increased.
  2. Increased maintenance costs for vehicles
    -It is necessary to add urea for vehicles: The SCR system requires urea, which is consumed for a long time. Not adding/using inferior urea will directly limit torque and report faults;
    -DPF particulate filters require maintenance: they accumulate soot and require regeneration (branch vehicle regeneration, in-situ regeneration); Severe blockage requires disassembly, cleaning or replacement, and DPF accessories are expensive;
    -There are a large number of sensors (such as nitrogen and oxygen sensors, differential pressure sensors, etc.), which are precise and easily damaged. The cost of repairing accessories is higher than that of National V standard.
  3. Multiple usage restrictions and higher operational requirements
    -Short distance low-speed working conditions (frequent start stop in urban areas) are not conducive to DPF self-cleaning and are more likely to clog the particle trap; Vehicles that frequently run short distances have a significantly higher probability of malfunctions;
    -Poor quality diesel and urea cannot be used, as poor oil quality can easily lead to damage and post-processing, resulting in limited power and malfunction lights;
    -When a malfunction occurs, the vehicle often enters a limited torque mode, causing a significant decrease in power and affecting the ability to transport goods on the road.
  4. Fuel consumption slightly increases under some operating conditions
    Under the same engine and load conditions, due to the resistance of the exhaust after treatment, and the fact that some engines are tuned to adapt to emissions, the fuel consumption under low-speed conditions in urban areas is slightly higher than that of National V; There is not much difference in long-distance travel at a constant speed.
  5. High requirements for maintenance technology
    The post-processing system belongs to the precision electronic control system, and ordinary roadside repair shops may not have the ability to detect and repair it. Many faults require going to brand service stations, and the waiting time for repair is longer.
  6. Modification restrictions
    National VI emission monitoring is strict, and it is strictly prohibited to dismantle or shield post-treatment devices. Once DPF/SCR is shielded, the OBD system will sound an alarm, limit power, fail annual inspections, and face penalties; Exhaust and power modifications are basically not possible.
