- National III: Implemented in July 2008; Diesel National III light trucks are restricted and cannot be moved to most cities in China. The residual value of second-hand cars is extremely low, and it is not recommended to purchase them
- National IV: Implemented in January 2015; Need to install urea for post-treatment, many cities restrict immigration, and there are many traffic restrictions policies in urban areas, which poses a high risk of buying second-hand goods
- National V: Implemented in January 2018; Diesel National V light truck, the mainstream model at that time. New cars cannot be registered now, and some cities in China have restrictions on the relocation of second-hand cars; Annual inspections are becoming increasingly strict for OBD and exhaust gas checks
- National VI (National VI A/National VI B)
-National VI A: Light vehicles to be implemented nationwide on July 1, 2020, transitional phase
-National VI B: Light vehicles will be mandatory nationwide on July 1, 2023. Now all new diesel light trucks must be National VI B, and new cars can only be purchased from National VI B People’s Daily Online
-National VI diesel light truck: equipped with DPF particulate trap and urea SCR system, with stricter OBD monitoring; Compliant urea must be used and post-treatment cannot be blocked, otherwise the annual inspection will not be successful and fines will be imposed - Key points for purchasing light trucks
-New car: Only compatible with National VI B
-Priority for second-hand purchase: National VI B>National VI A>National V * *; Try to avoid Country 4 and Country 3 as much as possible, as many cities do not allow entry into the city center and cannot transfer ownership or move in
-Diesel National VI Vehicle Maintenance: Cannot add inferior diesel, cannot omit urea, and cannot remove particle traps, which are illegal modifications
-Query emission standards: check the motor vehicle certificate of conformity, driving license, and environmental protection information accompanying the vehicle list - New energy light truck
