Structural composition
Tractor: Provides power, usually with a cab and engine.
Semi trailer: No power device, connected to the tractor through a saddle at the front, and equipped with wheel support at the rear.
Common types include: flatbed semi-trailer, warehouse semi-trailer, container semi-trailer, refrigerated semi-trailer, tank semi-trailer, etc.
Load capacity
Large load capacity, usually able to carry 20-60 tons of goods, suitable for long-distance logistics and bulk cargo transportation (such as building materials, coal, containers, etc.).
flexibility
The tractor and trailer can be separated for easy loading and unloading of goods or replacement of trailers for different purposes (such as replacing containers with tanks).
Driving restrictions
Reversing is difficult and requires strict technical skills from the driver.
Some countries/regions have regulatory restrictions on the length, height, and total weight of semi trailers (such as China’s total length limit of 18.1 meters and total weight limit of 49 tons)
